How RoamDrop handles your data, at a glance
- On your device. Your trips, cards, notes and attached documents are stored on your iPhone or iPad. We run no server that receives them.
- Read on your device. Dates, times, places and prices are read from screenshots and PDFs on the device. A document is not uploaded anywhere to be read.
- Your iCloud, if you choose. A trip you share, or a copy you switch on, is stored in your own iCloud at Apple. We cannot open it.
- Published pages. A trip you publish as a web page is stored encrypted, and whoever has the link can read it until you turn the link off.
- Identity and payment documents. RoamDrop is not meant for passports, IDs, visas or payment cards. It looks for them on the device and keeps their numbers off your cards, but that check is automatic and can miss things.
- Lookups. Links you add are fetched to show a preview, places are looked up through Apple Maps, and exchange rates are downloaded as a public table.
- Statistics and reports. The app sends usage statistics without any content, on by default and switched off in Settings. Recognition reports are sent only if you agree.
- No account. You can plan a trip without signing up.
- No cookies on this site. Visits are counted without storing anything in your browser.
