When we change a policy, the version it replaced stays here. You can always see what you agreed to at the time, not only what is current.

Privacy Policy

• October 24, 2026: current. Says that your own photo or avatar reaches the people on the trips you share; that people you add by name without the app are kept on the trip; and that a passport, identity card, driving licence, residence permit or visa page is kept only on this device or not at all, never in a shared trip, with only a visa's dates read from it.
• October 15, 2026: Says that a place named by a link, a photo, a screenshot or a document is looked up on Apple's map with its name and its address or point, never the document; that words with a passport, identity, visa or payment card number are never sent; that a place with no picture of its own shows Apple's street picture, which is never saved; that a card keeps only Apple's identifier for a place, and the place's address, phone, website and point from Apple Maps are shown while online and never stored; that the usage statistics no longer carry countries; and that deleting a trip or erasing your data now takes published pages down and deletes recognition reports.
• October 4, 2026, the rewrite: Rewritten from start to finish to say what the app does today: what stays on the device, each thing that leaves it and when (iCloud sharing and the optional iCloud copy, published pages, lookups, usage statistics, recognition reports), how identity and payment documents are handled, how long things are kept, who else is involved, and what each control in the app does and does not delete.
• October 4, 2026, the earlier version of that day: said that the usage statistics include the countries a trip’s places were found in, as two-letter codes such as “AT”, and never the places themselves.
• October 2, 2026: Adds a paragraph for people in Russia: RoamDrop keeps none of their personal data on servers of its own, their documents stay on their iPhone and in their own iCloud at Apple, and the optional “Send document text too” setting is not offered in the Russian App Store.
• September 24, 2026: said how purchases are handled now that RoamDrop Plus and trip passes can be bought, and how links to TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and Google Sheets are read.
• September 14, 2026: said how visits to this website are counted: a one-way hash made on our analytics provider's servers from your IP address, your browser details and a secret that changes daily, so we can tell how many people came without storing anything on your device or keeping your IP address.
• September 9, 2026: added what a published trip page is, what it does and does not contain, and how to take it down.
• September 2, 2026: in force when version 1.0 was reviewed and released.

Terms of Use

• October 15, 2026: current. Says that deleting a trip now takes its published page down, while deleting the app still does not; and that details of a place from Apple Maps are shown only online and are not kept in the trip.
• October 4, 2026: Rewritten to match the app as it is: the licence, sharing and publishing, identity documents, what recognition, estimates and reminders can and cannot be relied on for, purchases as they are sold, a limit on liability, the terms Apple requires, complaints and governing law.
• October 2, 2026: added one sentence on shared trips: they sync through iCloud, which Apple provides under your own agreement with Apple, and RoamDrop holds no copy.
• September 24, 2026: replaced the planned Smart Drops with what is sold: what stays free, what RoamDrop Plus and a trip pass open, how the subscription renews and is cancelled, and what happens when access ends.
• September 9, 2026: added a paragraph on publishing a trip as a web page and what you are responsible for when you do.
• July 28, 2026: in force when version 1.0 was reviewed and released.

Acceptable Use Policy

• October 4, 2026: current. Says where a sensitive file goes when it is kept, and what we can and cannot do about a shared trip or a published page.
• September 9, 2026: added one line about publishing somebody else's personal information.

Cookie Policy

• October 4, 2026: current. Corrects what the email form does (the address goes to our website host), and adds the App Store link label and published trip pages.
• September 14, 2026: described the daily hash that counts visitors, and repeated that the site sets no cookies and never stores your IP address.
• June 16, 2026: in force when version 1.0 was reviewed and released.
